ESI Scientist participates in UMBC’s Community Day
During UMBC’s Earth Month celebration, on Monday, April 22, Brent McBride of UMBC’s Earth and Space Institute participated in Community Day. He was joined by Amy Houghton (ESRA/UMBC) and Dominique Footes (GESTAR II/SURA). Dr. McBride spoke with visitors to the table about the HARP-2 model that was on display and attracted much attention. He explained how the HARP-2 polarimeter, which was built by the ESI at UMBC, provides data from the PACE satellite, which launched in February 2024. He also had materials that provided more detail about PACE’s objectives to provide atmospheric and oceanic information. The group also encouraged students to follow Earth and Space Institute group on myUMBC. ESI thanks everyone who stopped by.
